Hello fellow Vintage fashion enthusiast!

I just can’t seem to shake the theme of feathers these days! With Thanksgiving being tomorrow! You are sure to have your pickings for a lovely Thanksgiving dinner wardrobe. The inspiration for this weeks Thanksgiving themed color pallet is “Cranberries!”

Wouldn’t you know, that while searching high and low for some more holiday inspiration? I came across this fabulous 1940′s rayon feathered print dress! And it has the exact color palette I was looking for, in it! Double whammy!

As I have said before, there is a way to get in the mood and spirit of the holiday in style without being over the top. This dress is just the perfect little hint of the holiday and touch of 1940′s classic style.

So speaking of cranberries, how much more cranberry can you get than these pair of shoes! Not only are they completely 1940’s fabulous, but they also match the colors of the dress in perfect harmony. They remind me of the exact same color that those delicious bright cranberries look like, perfectly placed in a bowl, sitting on the Thanksgiving dinner table!

Oh wait! Did you think I was going to leave you without a lovely hat to match? Not this crazy hat lady, hat’s are a portrait of the 1940′s. So here is a swell one, sure to knock your 1940′s socks off and perfectly match your lovely cranberry colored feather dress and shoes!

I just can’t seem to shake the theme of feathers these days! With Thanksgiving being, less than two weeks away. You are sure to have your pickings for a lovely Thanksgiving inspired dinner wardrobe. Staying within the lines of the color palette, of fall and Thanksgiving. Yellow would have to be another color to add to the list of browns, and oranges.

Well feast your eyes on this dress! A 1940’s crepe and rayon mixture complete with both large plumes, or feathers as you wish to call them, and they are colored the perfect shade of festive yellow to boot!

Not only do we have the dress! We have the perfect hat to match too! This fine hat is a one of a kind New York Creation, 1940′s tilt hat, that is just stunning to look at! Simply divine in every way! Color, shape and matching feather!

Because I am a stylist by nature, I usually have to do the whole sha-bang. That means head to toe and every detail in between! I love to style wardrobe pieces, find the perfect match and add the finishing touches. So with that being said, you know I couldn’t leave you without the shoes!

In all their glory, here is a striking pair of black 1940’s velvet platform sling backs. These babies are in mint condition, and have a very unique scalloped detail.

Well, we have successfully completed another classy and Vintage stylish Thanksgiving themed wardrobe! Even though the spirit of Thanksgiving inspiration for these outfits, comes from the feathers and colors! Believe me I would sport these garbs any day of the week!

“Tis the Season”

First things first! I would like to say thank you! to AlleyKat’s for the lovely welcome and introduction to their blog. I am so excited and thrilled to be a part of the creative team. Since we are coming into the holiday season at full force speed. I decided that my first few fashion posts were going to be in relation to, getting us in the mood for dressing; “tis the season!” Since Thanksgiving is the next holiday celebration. I have started my shopping with that in mind.

This is an amazing little outfit I put together, while I was browsing through some of the amazing Vintage stores, that the cyber world has to offer. The color palette of brown and orange just scream, “Thanksgiving” season to me. This is a gorgeous 1940’s era dress. I just love the color, cut and shape of the dress, and the pop of orange detail on the shoulders.

The fabulous feathers on this amazing hat are perfect for getting in the Thanksgiving mood, but in a settle, sophisticated, glamorous way, without being over the top!

I can just envision the entire outfit styled and put together on one lovely, lucky lady. A few ideas for accessories are; to wear a lovely brown carved Bakelite bracelet and earring set. Green or butterscotch would also be two lovely pops of color to throw in there, and would be sure to bring the shades of green, that are in the hat right out! If one could find a pair of gloves to match the orange detail on the dress, that would be amazing!

Well there you have it! You are ready to celebrate the Thanksgiving season in the perfect 1940’s glamour girl outfit!

The rest of the month will be a series of fashion features dedicated to this month! As we move right along and get closer to the month of December. I will be sure to get some ideas and outfits ready for the Christmas and New Years Holiday!
