Here we are again. We find ourselves amidst the hustle and bustle of back to school..all the while trying to enjoy the last few rays of the summer sun. Personally I love fall. It is my all time favorite season, with spring coming in at a close second. Summer, eh, I take it or leave it. Besides the farmer’s market harvest and the annual family vacation I much rather live among the cooler, crisp autumn air. If your schedule is anything like mine it is just a matter of getting there. In this moment of duality I thought I would offer up a few of my favorite must have back to school items.
Number One. A tailor cut blazer. Simple and Classic. If you have only one piece in your closet that you can rely on all year, it would be a tailored blazer. I have one in a chocolate brown, and have worn it on many an occasion.

This handmade blazer can be found on Etsy in ModernMaude's Shop.
Number Two. What better to go with a tailored blazer than a classic white shirt? A white shirt should be a staple in everyone’s closet. Not just vintage lovers. A true vintage white shirt may need professional cleaning as the crisp white color usually becomes dingy over time. However if you are unalbe to find one, fear not. There are tons of vintage inspired designs out there. My favorite this year are more sheer and have laced edging.
Number Three. A pencil skirt. I wear them year round, but love them even more in the fall seasons. How about a tweed skirt? One would be lovely with the two above items. Below is a picture of a unique vintage one piece dress. This set would be a lovely edition to any vintage lovers collection. Luckily it is on sale right now for only $18.00.

This set can be found on Etsy by visiting MaxandChloevintage.
Number Four. Dark wash jeans. A classic pair of dark wash jeans can take you from school to play. Dress them up or dress them down, buy the right pair and they will love you for years.
Number Five. Anything plaid. Run towards it, the screaming is optional, but do run. Plaid will be big and it will sell quickly. Opt for a piece that you can revisit in your closet for years to come. I love this Goldenrod Plaid skirt. It could be used season after season.

This Goldenrod Plaid Skirt can be found in SmallEarthVintage's shop on Etsy.
Number Six. I know that for fall most people love to wear boots. Chunky heels, stiletto heels, whatchamacallit heels, and everything in between. I myself am to blame. I have a pair of stiletto heeled boots that I get compliments on every time I wear them. But every now and then, trade your boots in for a pair of ballet flats..maybe in a shiny gold or silver. Nothing wrong with being comfortable.
Number Seven. A sweater set. Or fitted turtleneck set. Personally I keep my eye out for sets that have fun embellishments, like this one listed by mysweetiepiepie.

This lovely vintage cardigan can be yours for $63.99. Visit mysweetiepiepie on Etsy.
Number Eight. Wrap yourself up in a lovely brocade coat and scarf. While perusing some of my many favorite vintage shops I come across the most amazing coats. My all time favorite cut is the Princess Coat. If I ever find one from the 1940’s that I wouldn’t have to mortgage my house to purchase, it’s MINE!!! If I see you crossing the street towards it’s general direction, watch out. No prisoners will be taken.
Number Nine. I had to add this since it is one of my new favorite things. I have already had a “discussion”, okay texting session, with a friend of mine and warned her about my new found love. Of course she thinks I am nuts. But just wait, I am telling you, it will catch on..and then you can all come back and tell me how much of a trendsetter I am. Here it is in a lovely shade of “Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow”…oh it’s love at first sight.

"Here today...Aragon Tomorrow" is made by OPI and can be purchased at Ulta.com
Number Ten. I am an artist first and everything else second. Although I don’t create things on an every day basis like most artists, I still strive to incorporate the process of creativity into my everyday life. I have a vast appreciation for those that are able to create on a daily basis. One of my new found obsessions is jewelry design. Because I love vintage, I have chosen this one of a kind necklace to display. I am planning on purchasing one for myself, and hope you will too!

This hand hammered copper rose necklace is available in the Etsy shop, SimpleLifeDesigns.
Now that you know what some of my fall picks are, send me some of yours!
